Through a series of events we landed in Waxahachie on the square this evening. We had dinner at the 1879 Chisholm Grill. Super tasty! The location of the building has its roots in 1879 when cowboys from the Chisholm Trail would stop in Wax for supplies & saloon trips. In 1920 the present building was erected & it has been a restaurant in some form since then. Really quaint place with tons of funny signs on the wall:
- "The more you run over a possum, the flatter it gets"
- "Life is too short to live in Dallas"
My personal favorite: Ian said, "you will like this sign, Mom:
- "If at first you don't succeed, go back & do it the way your mother told you to"!!
