Yes, that is Trevor stuck in a mud pit! My brother, David, helps out a family who run a paint ball (dfwpro.com) operation out in Alvarado. This is also the ranch where he rescued our dog, Jet, but that is another post, I guess... We decided to go exploring with Uncle Dave one day a few weeks back & let Jet run around in the country unfettered by a leash. Well, this is quite the place for 3 boys & a dog so you can imagine the fun we all had! The paint ball fields are quite elaborate with WWII type bunkers, trenches, etc. Well, we had been out for about an hour with just a little bit of mud on our feet when we went to the back "forest." We came out of the forest area at separate times & all of a sudden hear Ian yelling, "Trevor is stuck!" - not frantic or anything, just matter of fact. However, the fact that Ian was missing a shoe & up to his knees were covered in dripping mud should have given me a clue.... The picture above is the scene in which we found Trevor - yes, he is clinging with a death grip onto that branch & not too happy that Uncle Dave is taking this picture instead of immediately rescuing him! All this to say that Uncle Dave is the true hero for creatively lifting this 6 yr. old from a trench filled with cement-like mud! Suffice it to say that a self-serve car wash was involved to "power wash" mud away from boots & pants - but only the boots survived. Ironically, the dog ended up being the cleanest one of us all - even Mommy didn't escape w/o mudspots due to creatively removing clothes at the scene...another story for another time :) Don't ask Trevor about this escapade though, he overheard me talking to someone about it a few days later & told me "I don't want to talk about that anymore" :) Is blogging technically "talking" about it?! Oh, well :)
Treasuring the time we have with Ian, Trevor & Myles as they grow from boys into young men. Currently homeschooling - each day is an adventure of learning & exploring & forming family bonds - especially creating a team of brothers for the future.
